Where the Active Matter community actually talks: r/ActiveMatter, the official Discord, the news feed and the only route for real bug reports.
Active Matter Community - Reddit, Discord, News and Support
Four places, four jobs. Player discussion happens on r/ActiveMatter, official Q&A and the creator programme happen on the official Discord, patch announcements land on the official news feed, and actual bug reports go to Gaijin's issue tracker. None of them does the others' job well, and picking the wrong one is the most common reason a question goes unanswered.
| Channel | Best for | Link |
|---|---|---|
| r/ActiveMatter | Player talk, builds, opinions, LFG | reddit.com/r/ActiveMatter |
| Official Discord | Developer Q&A, patch chatter, creator programme | discord.gg/RWajbUQZfH |
| News feed | Every patch note, dated and official | activematter.game/en/news |
| Gaijin issue tracker | Bug reports that need a developer response | community.gaijin.net/issues/p/active_matter |
If you only bookmark two of these, take the Discord and the news feed. The Reddit subreddit is the loudest and the most useful for opinion, and the news feed is the only one you can trust for a version number.

r/ActiveMatter - where players actually talk
The subreddit describes itself as "The official subreddit for Active Matter, a time looping shooter developed by Team Matter for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and the PS5". That makes it semi-official in name but player-run in practice, which is exactly why it is the best place for unvarnished opinion.
It is where the useful argument happens: loadout choices, which zones are worth your time, whether the progression grind justifies itself, and reports like the community thread tracking how the concurrent player count moved after launch. Those conversations are frequently sharper than the official channels, and they are frequently wrong about specifics, so treat a subreddit answer about a mechanic the same way you would treat a wiki answer from a game that launched last week.
The subreddit also carries the Discord link in its own sidebar. If you find a Discord invite anywhere else, compare it against that one.

The official Discord - Q&A, news and the creator programme
The Discord server is titled Active Matter Official and showed roughly 14,393 members when checked on September 29, 2026. Its official status is not a guess: the Steam store page links it directly under the game's social links, and a Steam news post titled "Active Matter - Join Our New Discord Server!" announced the server as the place where the developers would keep players closer to the loop on future Active Matter news.
Three things are worth knowing about it:
Developer Q&A happens there. Questions that need an official answer get asked and answered in the same channel, which is faster than the news feed for anything that is not a version number.
The creator programme lives here. The news feed carries a post dated September 21, 2026 titled "The Agency Is Recruiting Content Creators!", and the game also runs stream-watching reward campaigns, with posts on September 18 and September 25, 2026. Both are aimed at creators and are announced through these channels rather than through the storefront.
The old forum is dead. The pre-launch community forum at forum.activematter.game now carries a notice reading "The Agency Is Moving To Discord!". Anything you find there predates the Discord and is worth treating as historical.
The Active Matter invite circulated for months before the publisher's own server existed, and third-party YouTube descriptions, Facebook posts and Discord server directories still link older codes. The only endorsed invite is the one linked from the Steam store page and the official site, which is discord.gg/RWajbUQZfH. If an invite asks you to sign up for a creator programme, a giveaway or a download mirror, close it and use the Steam page link instead.
The news feed - where patch numbers come from
The feed at activematter.game/en/news is paginated across 18 pages and is the single source of truth for versions. As of September 29, 2026 the September entries read:
| Date | Post |
|---|---|
| September 14, 2026 | Active Matter Worldwide Launch Times |
| September 17, 2026 | Update 0.4.0.115 |
| September 18, 2026 | Update 0.4.0.122 |
| September 18, 2026 | Merits and Rewards |
| September 21, 2026 | Update 0.4.0.132 |
| September 21, 2026 | The Agency Is Recruiting Content Creators |
| September 22, 2026 | Update 0.4.0.135 |
| September 23, 2026 | Update 0.4.0.137 |
| September 24, 2026 | Update "The Fundamental Protocol" |
| September 25, 2026 | Update 0.4.0.156 |
| September 26, 2026 | Active Matter Is Now Available On PC, PlayStation 5, And Xbox Series X|S |
Six named builds in twelve days. That is a fast patch cadence, which is good news for players and a real problem for anyone writing guides, because a loadout recommendation from last week can be wrong today. The consolidated Active Matter patch notes turns this feed into a readable changelog, and the October content update page tracks what has been announced versus what is still rumour.
Gaijin support - the only route for real bug reports
This is the distinction most players get wrong. Gaijin's own support article on Active Matter bug reports states plainly that the support team does not manage bug reports. Posting a crash description in the Discord or on the subreddit may get you sympathy, but it will not get the bug fixed.
The working route is the dedicated issue tracker at community.gaijin.net/issues/p/active_matter, or the in-game reporting option.
The process, per the support article:
- Sign in to the tracker and click Report issue.
- Put a short summary in the title and a full description in the body.
- Add reproduction steps if you have them. This is the field that decides whether the report is actionable.
- Select your platform, the issue category, and the game version. The version number is displayed in the top-right and bottom-right corners of the client.
- Attach whatever the category requires, including client logs, launcher logs, screenshots or video.
Client .clog files live in <THE-GAME-FOLDER>/.game_logs. Use the latest dated log from after the problem began, and close the client before you attach it so the log is fully written.
A report that names a build number gets triaged far faster than one that does not, and several common launch problems were already addressed in later 0.4.x builds. Confirm your version against the patch notes, then work through the not launching and crash fix ladder before you file, so you are not reporting something already fixed.
The official social channels
The Steam store page links the publisher's own accounts, and those are the ones to trust when a link is involved:
| Network | Handle |
|---|---|
| Website | activematter.game |
| X | @amgame_official |
| YouTube | @Active_Matter |
| @active.matter.official | |
| /PlayActiveMatter |
The X account is where short announcements land fastest, sometimes ahead of the news feed. The news feed remains the version of record.
FAQ
What is the official Active Matter Discord?
The invite linked from the Steam store page and the official site, discord.gg/RWajbUQZfH. The server is titled Active Matter Official and showed roughly 14,393 members on September 29, 2026. Invites shared in older videos and posts may point elsewhere.
Where do I ask for help with a bug? The Gaijin issue tracker at community.gaijin.net/issues/p/active_matter, or the in-game reporting option. Gaijin support states that their support team does not manage bug reports, so the Discord and the subreddit are the wrong place to file one.
Where do I find Active Matter patch notes? The official news feed, which is paginated and carries every build. Between September 17 and September 25, 2026 it published six named builds: 0.4.0.115, 0.4.0.122, 0.4.0.132, 0.4.0.135, 0.4.0.137 and 0.4.0.156.
Is the old Active Matter forum still active? No. The pre-launch forum at forum.activematter.game now carries a notice reading "The Agency Is Moving To Discord!". Treat anything posted there as pre-Discord history.
Does Active Matter have a creator or streaming programme? Yes. The news feed carried "The Agency Is Recruiting Content Creators" on September 21, 2026 and stream-watching reward posts on September 18 and September 25, 2026.
Can I get help linking my Steam account? That is a Gaijin account binding question rather than a bug report. Start with the Steam account link and Gaijin email binding fix, which covers the progress-loss trap before you touch any settings.
