Every Active Matter raid zone on Dalniy Island - Scrapyard, Downtown, Cargo Port and Military Base - with variants, rotation rules and patch changes.
Active Matter Maps and Locations: Dalniy Island Zones and Raids
Active Matter's maps are split into raid zones rather than one continuous island, and each zone runs in specific modes. Scrapyard is permanently locked to a night-time "Midnight" setting with heavy fog, Downtown's raid timer was extended by patch 0.4.0.73, Military Base has a separate Unstable Zone variant, and Open Raid availability rotates on a schedule the developers justified on September 7, 2026.
- Dalniy Island is the main region. Community raid listings group Shegolskoe, Park, Factory, Ozernoe, Scrapyard, Cargo Port, Military Base, Dogorsk and Dam as its Main zones.
- Modes are not interchangeable. All Isolated Raids and their variants are playable at any time; Open Raids rotate.
- One map is confirmed unreleased. Epicenter is not playable, per the September 7, 2026 developer Q&A.
- Map data changes with patches. Build 0.4.0.156 on September 26, 2026 sealed a route in Airport and removed the Random raid variant option.

The Agency's own locations flyover describes scouting prime raid zones on Dalniy Island and beyond, from industrial complexes to a decommissioned dam. That is the shape of the map list below.
Isolated, Open, and Unstable Zone
Before individual maps, the mode rules matter more than most players expect.
Isolated Raids are the PvE side. The developers stated in the September 7 Q&A that all existing Isolated Raids, including their variants, can be played anytime. If you want a specific zone, you can queue for it.
Open Raids are the PvPvE side, and they rotate. Asked directly why the rotation came back, the developers said they are aiming to balance short matchmaking times with enough players for a good experience, and that offering too many raids at once would either lengthen queues or dilute the player pool. That is the whole reason. It is a queue-length decision, not a difficulty tier.
Unstable Zone raids are a distinct raid type. Military Base has one, and Downtown has one added with the 250 Shades of Liberty update on August 27, 2026. The developers also said they do not plan to make Unstable Zone modes playable in Isolated Raids, and that some raid designs simply are not well suited to certain modes. They also confirmed some whole map areas, such as Gigastructure, are restricted to Open Raids.
A raid being on the map list does not mean it is available in the mode you are in. The developers were explicit that Unstable Zone modes will not be added to Isolated Raids, and that some locations are restricted to PvPvE, PvP or PvE alone. Check the mode selector before you plan a farming session.
Scrapyard: the permanent Midnight raid
Scrapyard sits in a vehicle graveyard and industrial dump site on Dalniy Island, with a factory to the north and a key-locked Hangar 84 to the southwest that holds weapons and gear. It is listed as a Main Dalniy Island raid.
The defining fact is that Scrapyard is always in its "Midnight" setting. It is playable only at night, with extreme fog, and it is filled with Distorted. A thermal scope disperses the fog. Operatives enter around the perimeter and work inward toward a central extraction portal.
What is waiting inside, per the community wiki's zone breakdown:
- Three abnormal signals occupy a single location, protected by gravity traps, and are armed only with Makarov pistols and TOZ-Bs.
- Invisibles appear occasionally, and Flowermen sometimes spawn close to the extraction.
- Roaming ball lightning provides rare light in the dark.
The zone's objective lines are cooperative and forgiving: eliminate 30 Distorted, or destroy 60 anomalous flowers. Both are unlimited, non-cumulative tasks that do not require you to extract, and they pay escalating Credits and bonus rewards. That makes Scrapyard one of the better first zones for a new player, because you are not forced into an extraction fight to get paid.
Downtown: the long American raid
Downtown is set in America, and its single most important property for planning is duration. Patch 0.4.0.73, dated September 9, 2026, explicitly increased the duration of the Downtown raid alongside improved vehicle handling and numerous interface improvements. Any route written before that date assumed a shorter clock.
Downtown also has an Unstable Zone variant, added with the 250 Shades of Liberty update on August 27, 2026, alongside new raids set in North America.
If you want the surrounding systems rather than the map itself, the extraction loop guide covers how the raid clock and extraction actually interact.
Cargo Port, Military Base and the rest of Dalniy
Cargo Port is a Main Dalniy Island raid built around close-quarters play, and it carries its own Priority Cargo contract line. Treat its loot density claims as community-level: the community wiki map indexes place Cargo Port alongside Dogorsk, Shegolskoe, Ozernoe, Dam, Military Base and Park, but the developer has not published a per-map loot table.
Military Base has an Unstable Zone variant, and that variant changed on September 21, 2026. Patch 0.4.0.132 added potential final contraction locations for the Military Base Unstable Zone raid. Community players report that the unstable version begins contracting almost immediately, which is a player observation rather than an official figure.
Airport has Hangar 8A, and this is the map most damaged by recent patches. On September 26, 2026, build 0.4.0.156 sealed the passage through the hole in the wall of Hangar 8A and gated interior access behind a key. The same build added loot spawns to the trunk of the Ural Soviet truck and stopped item-planting contracts from selecting vehicle glove boxes as the receiver instead of the trunk. Earlier, on September 21, 2026, build 0.4.0.132 added vehicle spawn locations for the Airport Vehicle Transfer contract.
Factory had rooftop sensor placement during contracts fixed in 0.4.0.132.
Ozernoe had a well-known exploit closed on September 18, 2026: build 0.4.0.122 stopped Swarm enemies from stinging operatives inside the church. It also corrected where the Cold Trail investigation prompt appears.
Dogorsk extracts vary between runs. Build 0.4.0.122 made Dogorsk extraction locations randomise, so a memorised extraction point is no longer reliable. Dogorsk also hosted the Timeline Collision Overtime Raid event, which is where the WW2 weapons came from.

Open Raid rotation and the Rotation variant
Two separate rotation systems exist and they are easy to mix up.
The Open Raid schedule is a matchmaking decision described above. Some zones are only offered as Open Raids at certain times, which is why players wait for a specific map.
The Rotation variant is a new raid variant option added in 0.4.0.156 on September 26, 2026, available for Isolated raids. It automatically changes the raid variant after each visit. The same build removed the "Random" raid variant option from the raid selection menu entirely, so a guide telling you to pick Random is out of date.
The map that is not there yet
Epicenter is not playable. In the September 7, 2026 Q&A, asked when Epicenter would appear, the developers answered that the Agency's top scientists still have not been able to stabilise the epicenter of the catastrophe. Community tracking of the Monolith ladder places a Raid Explorer: Epicenter unlock at the Delta access level, but that is a community reading of the progression table, not a release date.
If you are learning the game from scratch, pick one Isolated Raid and learn it rather than chasing the rotation. Scrapyard is a reasonable first zone because its objectives do not require extraction, and Downtown is a reasonable second because the September 9 duration increase gives you more room to learn a longer map. The first raid guide covers what to bring on either.
FAQ
How many maps are there in Active Matter? Community raid listings group nineteen raids across three regions. The nine Main Dalniy Island zones are Shegolskoe, Park, Factory, Ozernoe, Scrapyard, Cargo Port, Military Base, Dogorsk and Dam, with Gigastructure, Headquarters and America listed separately, plus Overtime events.
Why is Scrapyard always dark? Scrapyard is permanently in its Midnight setting, which restricts it to night-time play with extreme fog. A thermal scope disperses the fog. This is not a random night event you can wait out.
Why is the Downtown raid longer than it used to be? Patch 0.4.0.73 on September 9, 2026 increased the Downtown raid duration, along with vehicle handling and interface improvements. Routes written before September 9, 2026 are working from the old clock.
Why can I not find the map I want in Open Raids? Open Raids rotate deliberately. The developers said short matchmaking times matter more than offering every raid at once, because too many simultaneous raids would lengthen queues or dilute the player pool. Every Isolated Raid and its variants remain available at any time.
Is the Epicenter map available yet? No. As of the September 7, 2026 developer Q&A the epicenter of the catastrophe has not been stabilised, so the map is not playable.
Can I still walk through the hole in the wall at Hangar 8A in Airport? No. Build 0.4.0.156 on September 26, 2026 sealed that passage and gated the interior behind a key. The same build also removed the Random raid variant option and added a Rotation variant that changes the variant after each visit.
Do map objectives change between patches? Yes. Build 0.4.0.132 on September 21, 2026 added possible final contraction locations to the Military Base Unstable Zone raid, and 0.4.0.122 on September 18, 2026 changed Dogorsk extraction locations to vary between runs. The full list is in the patch notes.
